Losing a job is the biggest nightmare, especially in the middle of inflation. Not performing well is one of the most common reasons you can get fired from a job. Covid also gave one common reason to organisations: cost-cutting.
Now, while legit reasons are understandable (somewhat), imagine losing your job for the most bizarre reasons... like drinking on weekends or wearing a particular colour to the office. It will be annoying, as well as emotionally draining.

1. FOR MISSING AN OFFICE PARTY
So, this Reddit user shared a strange story. The office believed in the 'we're a family' concept and this user refused to attend the owner's Christmas party. You know why? To celebrate the festival with their real family (exactly what people should be doing during the holidays). But this led to her termination. NOT FAIR!
2. FOR ASKING FOR AN OFF AFTER A MEDICAL EMERGENCY
Another user shared a weird incident. This user broke his/her hand. Now, this is a medical emergency that requires immediate treatment. But the boss fired the person for asking an off to get the plaster done.
3. FOR NOT WEARING A TIE
Some offices take the dress code way too seriously. But a scolding or a warning letter is enough in such a situation. But the boss of this employee fired them for not wearing a tie to work.
There is more to this story: The employee was supposed to get a tie from the organisation which he/she never received. They later got fired for not wearing the tie they never got!
4. FOR BEING TIRED
Tiredness is an obvious result of common cold. But one poor employee got fired for experiencing this tiredness.
The boss simply said, "you know why" and fired the employee.
But this story got interesting as it is illegeal in their country to fire people on the spot and the employee fought back.
5. FOR NOT WEARING A BELT
Another dress code issue which is highly annoying and unacceptable. So, this employee forgot to wear a belt one day. The boss asked them to go back home and come back with a belt. The employee refused because of the long travel hours. And guess what, this led to a termination.
