The 70th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on January 30 rekindled a discourse on social media about the ideals he stood by in life and death as Twitterati shared photos and speeches in remembrance. Interestingly, as #MahatmaGandhi trended, people started tweeting with #Godse.
Let's remember what #MahatmaGandhi stood for. What he lived for. And perhaps, spare a thought for what he died for.

The biggest win for #MahatmaGandhi 's ideology is that even though his murderers have wrested power in their hands for now, they cannot do a thing without bowing down to him & his ideas !!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi paid homage to Mahatma at Rajghat. Congress president Rahul Gandhi paid his tribute to Gandhi Smriti.
The discourse also veered into how Mahatma is only alive on our currency notes, as his teachings are nowhere to be seen in practice.
The recent Kasganj violence was also recalled in the context of Mahatma's preaching of non-violence. While some remembered him as the first victim of "terrorism" in independent India, others slammed the political parties for making Gandhi a Congress-BJP-RSS issue.
-If RSS hd nothng to do wd #MahatmaGandhi assassination It must condemn Godse Savarkar & Hindu MahasabhaApologize for~-Hate speeches against Gandhi-For erecting statue of Savarkar in the premises of Parliament durng NDA-I-Its ideology of Hindu Rashtra. Ths is wt killed Gandhi

“An unjust law is itself a species of violence. Arrest for its breach is more so.” ― #MahatmaGandhiIf Gandhi were alive to see what is happening with Aadhaar today, he would be the first one to oppose it and initiate a civil disobedience movement against it.
