Chennai Floods: What Inspector Rajeshwari said about her heroic viral video

Chennai is currently being battered by massive rainfall and flooding. Amid multiple rescue operations, a video of Inspector Rajeshwari is going viral and Twitter is calling her a star.

Chennai is currently being battered by massive rainfall and flooding. Amid multiple rescue operations, a video of Inspector Rajeshwari, a police officer from Chennai is going viral. The video shows Inspector Rajeshwari rescuing an unconscious man named Udaya at a cemetery in the TP Chatram area of Chennai by carrying him on her shoulders and searching for an auto to send him to a hospital.

WHAT RAJESHWARI SAID: Inspector Rajeshwari told ANI, "I gave [him] first aid, after which I carried him. An auto came there; we sent him to the hospital. I visited the hospital, his mother was there. I assured them to not worry and told them that the police department would support them. The doctor said that treatment is on and that there is nothing to worry about." 

HOW TWITTER REACTED: Soon after the video went viral, Twitter applauded Inspector Rajeswari for her strength and her efforts to save the man's life. Here are some reactions: 

CHENNAI RAINS: On November 10, the Indian Meteorological Department announced that the well-marked low pressure area over central parts of south Bay of Bengal had moved west-northwestwards and concentrated into a depression. The weather system is likely to cross north Tamil Nadu and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts between Karaikal and Sriharikota, close to the north of Puducherry, by the evening of November 11, the meteorological department said.
