Jawed Habib spits on woman's head in viral video: 'Thook mein jaan hai'
If someone in India wants to get a head-turning hairstyle or a complete makeover and is ready for an above-average investment, the first stop would be to one of the salons of Jawed Habib. Habib is a famous hairdresser, having worked with tons of Bollywood biggies and the official hairstylist for Femina Miss India. In 2019, he even dipped his toes into politics by joining the BJP.

During a training seminar in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar, Jawed Habib was filmed spitting on a woman volunteer’s head, saying that her hair is unwashed. As he casually spits into the woman’s head he’s heard saying, "Agar paani ki kami hai na… iss thook mein jaan hai (There is life in this spit, if there is no water to wash hair)."
This happens on stage and in front of an audience that is heard laughing and clapping in the background.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT
It remains unknown when the video was shot. As the video went viral, the woman filmed in the video put out a statement on what happened.

The woman in the video identified herself as Pooja Gupta who runs a beauty parlour called Vanshika Beauty Parlour, and is a resident of Baraut in Uttar Pradesh. She says that she attended a training seminar hosted by Jawed Habib yesterday, where he invited her on stage to volunteer, but misbehaved with her.
She goes on to say that after this humiliation, she will prefer to get her hair cut by a roadside barber instead of going to the renowned hairstylist.
So far, there has been no reaction from Jawed Habib.
'DISGUSTING, ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE'
Netizens, on the other hand, have criticised the celebrity hairdresser for his actions, calling it disgusting.

Some are saying that they will never go to one of his salons after the incident.
Many netizens also pointed out that it is a grossly unhygienic - and in Covid times - dangerous act.
