MS Dhoni makes jaws drop with Atharva first look

The last time when we saw MS Dhoni in a different avatar other than cricket was when he served in the Indian Army in Kashmir for 15 days in 2019. He had the desire of serving in the Indian Army, which he fulfilled after the 2019 World Cup, which was also his last.

Now, exactly, three years later, the former World Cup-winning Indian captain has decided to feature in a graphic sci-fi web series. On Wednesday, Dhoni shared the first look of his motion poster of the novel. At the beginning of the video, Dhoni says, ”Happy to launch the first look of the new age graphic novel, Atharva.”

WHAT IS DHONI’S NEW VENTURE?

MS Dhoni left his fans' with their jaw on the floor when he dropped the first look of his sci-fi mythological novel Atharva: The Origin. Dhoni dropped a hint in 2020 when he announced a project about the mysterious Aghori, who has been captured at a high-tech facility.

The graphic novel is an adaptation of writer Ramesh Thamilmani’s unpublished book of the same name. The series is backed by Dhoni Entertainment, a company that Dhoni co-founded with wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni in 2019. The entire project has been created by Virza studios in association with MIDAS deals.

THE FIRST LOOK

In the motion poster, where Dhoni is seen in the character of an aghori (a group of ascetic sadhus), he is seen fighting a number of demons around him. This is an avatar of Dhoni his fans have never seen.

SAKSHI DHONI ON THE GRAPHIC NOVEL

Sakshi Dhoni, who is the managing director of Dhoni Entertainment has said that the book is a mythological sci-fi work which explores the mysterious Aghori, who has been captured at a high tech facility.

She emphasised that the book would better fit the web series format than a feature film. She added that the company is working hard to make sure that it executes all aspects of the universe and brings out each character and story with as much precision as possible.
