Why Modi bhakts are making #ShutDownNDTV trend on Twitter

Indian television news channel, NDTV is getting lambasted on Twitter.

Reason: They are supposedly adopting an "anti-national" perspective. Well, that's what the BJP supporters would like to believe. Modi supporters have been lashing out at the TV channel for allegedly spreading "misleading news about the government". In one instance, the consulting editor Barkha Dutt has been advised to go to Pakistan whereas prime time anchor of NDTV India and one of the most respected journalists in Hindi, Ravish Kumar, has been urged to change his name to "Maulana Ravish Kumar".

Twitterati highlighted that NDTV's coverage of Pathankot was misleading where Barkha Dutt pointed out there could have been more than six militants entering the Air Force base. Besides, she was also trashed for her new book, This Unquiet Land: The Stories Beneath India’s Fault Lines, where she claimed that Modi-Nawaz met for nearly an hour "secretly" in Kathmandu during the SAARC summit, which according to the ministry of external affairs, is not a confirmed statement.

Many called for the ban on the channel

While many claimed it's just a plain stupid call
