Orangutan sees magic trick and goes bananas

Thought only humans enjoyed a good magic trick? Think again, for our simian cousins love magic too! And probably more than us.

The video that has gone viral on the internet shows an orangutan at the Barcelona zoo apparently breaking into laughter on watching a magic trick being performed by a visitor to the zoo. First, the man shows the ape that he is placing something into a cup. He puts a cover on the cup and shakes it. He then takes the cover off, and voila! The object that was placed in the cup has vanished.

The orangutan takes a second or two to perhaps understand what has happened. It then realises, and rolls over with laughter.

The reaction of the ape, though priceless, is perhaps expected, given that orangutans are among the most intelligent primates.
