So, the BlackBerry company has pulled the plug on the iconic BlackBerry phones, and though most of us stopped seeing BlackBerry a while ago, it has still been a memorable part of evolution of our phone lives, no?
I remember a very tiny segment of my classmates roaming around with BlackBerrys in their hand while the rest of the class would look up to these select few as 'top class'. Most of us had Nokias, Samsungs and Motorolas, but only a few had BlackBerry. Every time someone sat next to these BlackBerry-flaunting girls, one was sure to get an inferiority complex because these girls would BBM ALL THE TIME, right when they sat next to each other!!
So it was kind of a vibe. But now since the BlackBerry won't function any more, here are some of our favourite old phones that we used a long time ago, and said goodbye to, just like we're doing to BlackBerry today.
This was the first phone I bought. With the first salary (and survived on cornflakes the rest of the month)... It lasted two years. So long, #BlackBerry. ? pic.twitter.com/g42yl787Fo

1. RELIANCE LG CDMA
This was one of the first phones to be launched in India in 2003 which had no external memory nor any camera. It did have internet connection which was usually used to check cricket scores and a very annoying alarm tone which is not the first thing you want to hear when you wake up.

2. NOKIA NGAGE
This was a unique phone that looked like a playstation and did not have a camera but was created to win over the gamers. It was referred with wierd names like ''an egg'', ''a flat pan'' etc.
Yep! Still my primary (and only) cell phone. pic.twitter.com/gcLlsSYQWO

3. NOKIA 3310
This was the most iconic Nokia phones of all time where you had to type the button 7 about four times to type a "S" and you could play Snakes with one hand. Every beep mattered as it indicated a new message and no matter if you dropped it or threw it, it would still work. Even if you hit it with a brick.
Nokia 3310 was discontinued in 2005, but was known for its tough exterior.
Anyone that remembers the days before smartphones will understand this classic…“I’m wishing you a Happy New Year now as it probably won’t send at midnight” #Nokia3310 #Snake #NewYearsEve pic.twitter.com/EL1jh89d2f

This was one of the earliest smartphones of Nokia with a 5 way joystick and a nicer screen. It had more games, better resolution and though it was bulky like a stone, it was good. Also, it had a camera, which is why the kids bugged their parents for it! It was the one phone that was considered way ahead of its time and had launched at about Rs 22,000. In fact looks like people are still looking for it!
Does anyone have a working Nokia 6600 that I could borrow or have? pic.twitter.com/0aznDnwJ8w

5. NOKIA 5800
This was a different phone that sparked intrigue like none other because of it's black stylus that could be inserted inside the phone and because it was the first touch phone many had experienced in India. A good old classic.
The Nokia 5800 Xpress music had so much style. Nokia sold 8 million units during a global recession. The fastest-selling phone of '08-'09. pic.twitter.com/HSH0lr93H7

6. NOKIA LUMIA
The first time people saw Windows on a Hot Blue Phone was when the Nokia Lumia launched in 2013. It had a great Storyteller gallery and a lot of editing tools that was enought for people to go ga-ga over it.
Remember Nokia Lumia 800? It was released 10 years ago in December 2011, good times ?#WindowsPhone #Mango pic.twitter.com/Yuj7lZXnGu

7. NOKIA 1100
Nokia 1100 was a damn popular electronic device that beat many world records. It was known for its toughness and was dust proof, slip proof and it's torchlight was a big hit in Indian families.
Even so, the Nokia 1100 remains the highest selling mobile phone at 250 million units. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are the first models to come in two sizes as well as Apple Pay support. pic.twitter.com/JUXAYmCWJD

8. NOKIA E72
Nokia E72 was a very Blackberry style, Business-oriented phone with E-mail, Calender and Messaging all tied into one. It was a wow because it had an optical trackpad and it was ''business worthy''
I had a Nokia E72. I LOVED that phone. (I think I still miss having a physical keyboard on my smartphone, a bit ?) pic.twitter.com/VbceJey7cx
