Stood up by Swiggy, Prosenjit complains to PM and Bengal CM

Unhappy with the food delivery app, Bengali actor Prosenjit Chatterjee took to Twitter and tagged PM and CM. Here's how netizens reacted.

Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee recently faced an issue with the food delivery app Swiggy. He claimed that the food he ordered on the app failed to reach him. Chatterjee, who seemed quite unhappy with the food delivery app, took to Twitter to complain, like any other person with a Twitter account. But what topped everything was this: Chatterjee tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee in his complaint and requested their “kind attention” because he “felt it was necessary to talk about it”.

What happened next was expected. Twitter got together to troll Prosenjit for tagging the PM and CM. Some also advised him to tag the US President and the UN.

THE TWEET: On November 6, Prosenjit Chatterjee tweeted, “I want to draw your attention to an issue I have recently faced. On 3rd November, I placed an order on food delivery app Swiggy. After some time the status of the order changed to delivered but I never received the food. After raising the issue with Swiggy, they refunded me the money since the order was prepaid.
“What if someone relies on a food app to get food delivered for their guests and the food never arrives? What if someone is depending on these food apps for their dinner? Will they stay hungry?” Chatterjee continued.
THE REACTIONS: Many Twitter users mocked the actor after this tweet went viral. Here are a few:
THE JUSTIFICATION: After a flood of tweets came floating his way, the Bengali actor tweeted an explanation. He also added that he didn’t tweet as an actor but as a citizen.
THE O: Swiggy was at fault for not delivering the food. So, Swiggy refunded the money. Was Prosenjit reasonable in tagging the PM and Bengal CM? While his effort to highlight the loopholes in the food delivering system is commendable, tagging the PM and CM was probably stretching it a lot. There are far more important issues that need to be addressed at a time like this. Here's what Chatterjee could have done instead: ordered food from a different app!
