How terror attack in Gurdaspur is unfolding

Gunmen have attacked a police station and a bus in Punjab's Gurdaspur.

Here are the live updates:

-SP (detective) of Gurdaspur Baljeet Singh killed in the encounter.

-Delhi Police special cell is also going to Gurdaspur.

-Army and NSG are on standby, operation being conducted by Punjab Police Commandos: MHA sources.

-Security tightened at the North Block after Gurdaspur terror incident.

-Alert sounded in Parliament premises, security forces at spot.

-Dog squad at Punjab railway stations, all trains and tracks being checked by railway police.

-Ludhiana (Punjab) on high alert after Gurdaspur incident. Sniffer dogs put in action.

-Disposal of explosives on railway track being tackled by the Army.

-Special Forces team has also reached the location which has been cordoned off.

-Security level enhanced in Jammu and Kashmir.

-Samba (Jammu and Kashmir) on high alert after Gurdaspur incident.

-Kiren Rijiju says he is ready with the statement and will speak on the floor of the house if need be.

-Home Minister Rajnath Singh orders BSF to immediately move forces to Gurdaspur to assist police following attack by suspected terrorists.

- Intelligence branches Issued alerts to all districts,increased vigilance on inter-state border: Manoj Bhatt, DGP Rajasthan.

- IB sounds an alert in wake of the terror attack in Punjab. Maharashtra put on alert including sensitive cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nashik and Nagpur.

- We have engaged them in an encounter, they are in building adjoined to PS, our people on the job: Ishwar Chander.

- Around 100 Army troops has reached Gurudaspur from Pathankot. Army also called special forces jawans to neutralise terrorists.  

- Attack is serious, can't give details as operation is going on, no hostage situation reported so far: Kiren Rijiju

No one has been taken hostage in the militant attack at Punjab's Dinanagar town, said union minister Kirren Rijiju on Monday. "Yes there have been reports that there was a terror attack at the Punjab border (town) but as of now there is no information regarding hostages being held. We are looking into it and once I get some more information, I will come out with it," Rijiju told. The minister of state for home affairs also said that "...since the attacks are really serious, we can't reveal any data as of now as the operation is on". Read more here.
