Bye-bye 7 Race Course Road, glory days and long time residence of the Indian Prime Minister.
Hello, erm, Lok Kalyan Marg.
And hello, 7 LKM, henceforth the official residential address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

There have been many firsts in the two-year Modi realm and this too would be one. Expect paradigm-shifting changes and enormous nomenclature revolution in the days to come.
There were some sugg in NDMC meeting, but consensus was that RCR be now called Lok Kalyan Marg: Arvind Kejriwal pic.twitter.com/QtumLe5Iid

But nostalgia clouds no desi eyes, even if it was 7RCR where Modi's mother paid him a verdant visit and enjoyed the well-manicured gardens at the PM's residence.

Delhi's famous Race Course Road, relic of the colonial times, precious to Lutyens' tribe, is no more. It was named after the Delhi race course, part of Delhi Race Club, established in 1940.
Renaming, it seems, has been "unanimous", with BJP's Meenakshi Lekhi making the moves just a day back, but crouching as her "Ekatma Marg" (after the philosophy of her party’s ideologue Deendayal Upadhyay) got the boots.
Congrats! After Ekatm marg msg received from across country to make it Lok Kalyan Marg, all objections met with. RCR now #LokKalyanMarg !!
— Meenakashi Lekhi (@M_Lekhi) September 21, 2016Race horses can now gallop across Lok Kalyan Marg!

It's official, PM @narendramodi residence is now 7LKM instead of 7RCR.Race Course Road renamed as Lok Kalyan Marg.

Race course road is now Lok Kalyan Marg! Desh badalna mushkil hai, Sadak badalna aasan!

7, Lok Kalyan Marg.

New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), pricked by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal who wanted RCR "to be named after a martyr", possibly of Punjabi/Sikh origin given the Assembly polls due next year, did a moral tightrope, it seems, balancing BJP's and AAP's ego wars on the battlefield of road names.
Unlike the protracted wars fought over Aurangzeb Road, when we saw the Good Muslim versus Bad Muslim game being played over and over again, pitting the long dead Mughal emperor with the then newly deceased former president APJ Abdul Kalam, RCR suffered a sharp, swift, almost clinically precise execution.

Given that Indian national discourse is mulling a "normal nuclear attack" against enemy number one Pakistan these days, Twitterati is pondering if Lok Kalyan Marg is a suitable answer to the ongoing Uri crisis.
RCR is now Lok Kalyan Marg. Congratulations, all civic problems of Delhi are resolved now.

India has given a fitting answer to Pakistan for Uri terror attack by renaming Race Course Road as Lok Kalyan Marg.

Any last selfie moments possible at 7 Race Course Road or new board saying Lok Kalyan Marg is already up?
— Anoo B (@MickeySugarles) September 21, 2016
Some are busy comprehending Ms Lekhi's complicated take on "Indian culture", even as other debate the aesthetics of green-lighting a nuclear war from 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.
Many are wondering if more members of the Margdarshak Mandal would be visiting 7 LKM now.
Lok Kalyan Marg. Really? After Kalyan Singh? Or after LK Advani? Hope Not. To hell with the horses. Race Course Road no more
— Amith P (@amithpr) September 21, 2016
Was getting used to APJ Abdul Kalam road now have to remember Lok Kalyan Marg #racecourseroad no more?
— Neelam Pandey (@NPDay) September 21, 2016
So, #RaceCourseRoad is renamed as "Lok Kalyan Marg"! But, why is the government so enthusiastic in doing only cosmetic changes? #JustAsking
— Amitesh Gupta (@amiteshspeaks) September 21, 2016
So they can finally say, Modiji Lok Kalyan Marg par hai.... https://t.co/gfRpYJt1vR

Shocked that Racecourse Rd named after Delhi Racecourse is now Lok Kalyan. It should have been changed to Ghoda Kalyan.
