Renowned climate scientist RK Pachauri, who has been accused of sexual harassment by his junior colleague, was on Thursday removed from the post of Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) chief. Pachauri has been replaced by Ajay Mathur.
Last week, a Delhi court allowed RK Pachauri access to all TERI offices in the country except the ones on Delhi and Gurgaon. Hearing a plea filed against Pachauri, the Saket District Court allowed him access to TERI offices across the country, which caused a hue and cry on national and social media. Read more here.
Twitterati welcomed the news of Pachauri's removal as TERI chief. Here are the top reactions so far.
RK Pachauri has been asked to leave as TERI chief, procedural justice better late than never. It's Ajay Mathur now.

My faith in the Governing council of TERI restored if they indeed sacked Pachauri.

'Psst, Pachauri is about to be sacked. Ask for his removal.' 'OK, please sack RK Pachauri.' 'Done.' 'Impact!'

So R.K. Pachauri returns to TERI like a batsman on 99 not out overnight -- and gets out the first ball next day

Compare & Contrast: Silence over RK Pachauri's stint at TERI despite sexual harassment, to uproar over Gajendra Chauhan at FTII @ibnlive

Am glad to see @kiranshaw & Naina Kidwai & others on Governing Council asking Pachauri to step aside from #TERI leadership for harassment

Its utterly shameful that it took over 5 months for RK Pachauri to be removed from TERI despite the sexual harassment complain

Would RK Pachauri have been removed without public outcry for justice? Why can't institutions take moral and ethical action on their own?
