In a first-of-its-kind media interaction with the housemates of Bigg Boss 11, the 99th episode of the show exposed that the viewers of the Indian reality show enjoy kitchen fights and building stereotypes.
The discussion revolved around how Shilpa Shinde by doing the kitchen duties had come to be the "mother" and "housewife" of the house. This thought led to a round of applause too. Meanwhile, the questions asked to Hina Khan and Shilpa Shinde during the press interaction were mostly answered by Vikas Gupta and Puneesh Sharma.
It’s not Khatron Ke Khiladi, it’s Bigg Boss
Bigg Boss introduced the housemates to some media persons and said that they have come to the house as representatives of the viewers, who have many unanswered questions lurking in their minds. Hina Khan was asked whether she was jealous of Shilpa Shinde as the latter had won many hearts by working in the kitchen since the beginning of the show. While Hina said that the reality show was not all about confining oneself to the kitchen, she was reminded that it was Bigg Boss 11, not Khatron ke Khiladi. Hina Khan was a finalist of Khatron Ke Khildai, Season 8. The moment the media interaction became another session of ugly spat with a few new faces propped up by Bigg Boss, the purpose of the show to scoop up a few controversies was met.
Shilpa breaks down and Puneesh explains
While the media representatives were good to Shilpa Shinde for her kindness displayed successfully on the show, whenever she was about to say something, Vikas Gupta interrupted her. He tried to explain that it was Shilpa Shinde’s strategy to be the “helpless woman” of the house to garner votes by seeking sympathy. Puneesh Sharma silenced all the cacophony by comparing Shilpa Shinde to “housewives who toil throughout the day to get no credit” to which people clapped leaving Shilpa in tears.
When Hina was asked why she was always seen going back on her words, Vikas intervened and explained that Hina never does it on purpose. “She is a little forgetful,” Vikas said in an attempt to save Hina from just another awkward situation during the media interaction. Shilpa's fans were also very happy that Puneesh supported Shilpa. Little did they understand that Puneesh’s “stealing the show” was just a deliberate attempt to impress Shilpa’s huge fanbase.
Kitchen fight takes centre stage again
Interestingly, when there are only five people left in the show, which started with 19 candidates, the responsibility of the kitchen has become the eye of the storm with Shilpa Shinde refusing to cook for Vikas, Hina and Akash. In her defence, she said that she cooked for all and was slammed for not giving her 100 per cent to the tasks assigned by Bigg Boss. Vikas accepted and said he would cook for three while Shilpa could cook for herself and Puneesh. The bickering didn’t end as Shilpa said that the stuffing with which Vikas made parathas was made by Shilpa. Vikas said he used that stuffing so that it was not wasted!
