Ducati launched two superbikes in India and they are absolutely stunning

Italian motorcycle giant Ducati launched two new superbikes — the Ducati Multistrada 950 and the Ducati Monster 797 — in India on June 14 at an ex-showroom price of Rs 12.60 lakh and Rs 7.77 lakh.

Their affordability undoubtedly makes the two much sought-after options from Ducati's stable. Monster 797 will be placed below the Monster 821 while the Multistrada 950 will be positioned below the Multistrada 1200 in the company's line-up.

Monster 797

The 797 comes with an 803cc, L-Twin cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 75 HP and 68.9 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to six-speed gearbox.

As AutoToday explains: The design scheme of the "Monster 797 is elegant and muscular, perfectly integrates the wide handlebar, tank, trellis frame, engine and double-sided swingarm. An agile and dynamic line that transmits sportiness and instils confidence right from first glance: a compact, sports design that is unmistakably Monster. The classic circular headlight is equipped with LED position lights, the tank reintroduces the fastening hook and the Desmodue twin, advanced and powerful, sees the return of the cooling winglets."

The latest monster in the Ducati Superbike lineup will be available in three colour combinations – Star White Silk, with red frame and wheels, the classic Ducati Red, with black frame and wheels and smart Dark Stealth with black frame and wheels.

Needless to say, the three colour schemes will be a sight worth the big bucks.

Multistrada 950

The bigger cousin of the Monster 797 borrows from the design schemes of Multistrada 1200 and Multistrada 1200 Enduro to come up with a design that should work like a charm.

The Multistrada 950 is powered by a 937cc twin cylinder with a liquid cooling engine that can produce a maximum of 113 horsepower, with a maximum torque of 96.2 Nm. That is unparalleled strength. Just like the Monster 797, the engine of the Multistrada has also been mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The bike is out in two colour variants: the classic Ducati Red and stylish Star White Silk.

The competition

Both the bikes come with great features and are expected to give competition to the likes of the Triumph Tiger 800 and the Street Triple 765, which has an ex-showroom price of more than Rs 11 lakh. The entry-level S variant costs Rs 8.50 lakh.

The latter was launched earlier in the week and sports a sturdy three-cylinder engine that churns out 111.5bhp of total power and uses a six-speed gearbox.
