4-time champion in WWE: 10 things to know about Alexa Bliss

She was one of the first women to have wrestled in the first-ever women wrestling match in the UAE.

By winning the first-ever WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) Women’s Elimination Chamber match, American wrestler, Alexa Bliss, has created history. In the past three years, there have been several milestones for women wrestlers, including the first-ever Iron Man match, Hell in a Cell match, Money in the Bank ladder match, and the Royal Rumble, with and the Elimination Chamber match being the latest addition to the list. While Bliss is all set to face Asuka in Wrestlemania 34, which is scheduled to be held on April 8, here are 10 interesting facts about her.

Four-time champion in WWE

She debuted as a wrestler in 2013, in the SmackDown brand. She has been the only competitor to have held the SmackDown Women’s Champion title twice. In 2017, she was moved to the Raw brand and won the Women’s World Championship. She is a four-time champion in the WWE and is the first woman to hold women’s titles in both SmackDown and Raw.

First woman to wrestle in Abu Dhabi

In 2017, Bliss was in India along with Sasha Banks, for the WWE Supershow, which was held at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. The duo also took part in the first-ever women’s match in Abu Dhabi in 2017. According to the UAE’s “modesty mandates”, they had to wear some special outfits to cover their bodies.

Had life-threatening eating disorder

From an early age, Bliss has been suffering from weight-loss problems. When she was 15 years old, she was diagnosed with a “life-threatening eating disorder”.

Bodybuilding came to the rescue

After that diagnosis, Bliss tried to gain some healthy weight and bodybuilding came to her rescue. Within a year of starting, she became a professional, and also competed in Arnold Sports Festival tournament.

She was 96 pounds when she debuted

When Alexa debuted, she was asked to gain a few pounds to get inside the ring. At that time, she weighed only 96 pounds.

How she became 'Little Miss Bliss'

With a height of 5 feet and a half inch, she was always the little woman of the ring. While the first part of her ring name Alexa came from her original name Alexis, the “Bliss” has an interesting story behind. “Bless your heart” was her catchphrase, but she used to pronounce it as “bliss” and thus she became Alexa Bliss.

She is into many other sports

Apart from wrestling and bodybuilding, she was into kickboxing, gymnastics, track and softball. While she was at the university, she reached Division I status in cheerleading.

She is also a singer

Bliss’ grandfather was a country musician. She is a music lover and a great singer.

She has appeared in two video games

Bliss has been part of two video games, WWE2K17 and WWE2K18, both available on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.

She appeared in WrestleMania 30 in disguise

In 2014, Bliss appeared in WrestleMania 30 in disguise as part of Triple H’s medieval-themed entrance.
