I feel betrayed by Modi for letting Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi get away

Whether I refer to you as pradhan sevak, chowkidar or prime minister, you haven't really proved your worth in any of these roles. For the poor, the marginalised and farmers of this great nation, your tenure as the prime minister has been one defined and underlined by loot and harassment of the worst kind.

Public banks under you, have been more than generous to the rich and powerful, on the contrary they have been fleecing the poor, whose welfare you promised to look after. Where ever I look, I see the same story repeated. You tom-tomed the idea of Jandhan and got the poor to open 1.5 crore bank accounts. One crore people out of these 1.5 crore economically marginalised people handed over their savings to the banks trusting you. But what did you do with that money?

Well, you used Rs 4,000 crore from that money to sanction a loan to Adani for a project that the entire world had rejected. Thankfully, this Australian power project didn't get approved else you had almost handed over the money to Adani for this controversial project. Objections with regards to coal mining had marred the project.

When your Opposition party, Congress, raised the issue, you didn't even bother giving a reply. What kind of love are you exhibiting for the poor of this country, dear sir, when you take money from them to fund an industrialist whose project wasn't even supposed to generate employment for those living in this country?

Now, let's also see your attitude towards the farmers and the rich. You kept giving fat loans to Nirav Modi, he left with over Rs 11,400 crore. The system ensured Vijay Mallya's safe (also super comfortable) flight from the country. You sat doing nothing. By mortgaging Mallya's brand you handed over to him common man's hard-earned money.

The greed to extract from the people was so strong that you even increased the fine for not maintaining minimum balance in bank accounts for the poor. People were also forced to pay money to withdraw money from their bank accounts. Even withdrawing money from ATMs became tedious. For whom did the banks need this money?

I would have understood if it was only about money, but your banks even claimed the lives of innocent citizens of this country. Data from the National Crime Records Bureau itself shows that in 2015 alone you became so heartless in ensuring that farmers pay back their loans that 2,474 farmers had to commit suicide. The report made it clear that the reason behind all the suicides was the strictness shown by the banks in dealing with them. Your effort to recover the loans, dear sir, proved more extracting than the loans of moneylenders.

You run the bank accounts of the poor at your whims and fancies, post noteban you sealed Jandhan accounts. By which right, did you take away the money that the poor kept in their accounts?

While the poor are being stripped of all their money, the middle class too is being made to give up its money on various frivolous grounds, including demonetisation. So where did all this money that you extorted go?

The black money never made its way back into the country. Meanwhile, scam after scam has been unearthed. By the Reserve Bank of India's own admission, every four hours one bank fraud is committed in the country.

Nearly Rs 3,67,765 crore have been bungled in various bank frauds. All this money has gone to the coffers of the rich. You kept giving the rich loan after loan, and you kept taking away the money from the poor - either by luring them or threatening them.

That's not all. You knew that the banks would crumble and to ensure this does not impact the government, you prepared an ordinance. This ordinance too is going to rob the poor of their money. You brought in the Financial Resolution and Deposit Insurance (FRDI) Bill to ensure this blatant loot is well financed through the deposits made by the poor. The ordinance ensures that if a bank starts to crumble due to the many frauds that are being blatantly encouraged the poor are punished.

In lieu of the money you want to hand over to poor account holders shares of sinking banks that wouldn't even be worth a few pennies.

I am sorry but when I see you shed tears for the farmers, I feel deeply enraged. You appear like a predator to the poor, dear sir.

You are taking away our subsidies but throwing open government coffers for the likes of Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya.

I seek your forgiveness for this letter, I think you might actually forgive me. But my heart will never forgive you.
