Swiggy delivery guy hit by car in Noida and dragged for 1 km on same day as Delhi Kanjhawala accident

Just like the Kanjhawala accident in Delhi, in another case of hit, drag, and run, a food delivery agent was killed after a car rammed into him and dragged him for over a kilometre in Noida on Sunday (January 1).

What happened: Kaushal Yadav, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri district, was working as a delivery agent for Swiggy, when his bike was struck by an unidentified car while passing the Sector 14 flyover in Noida around 1 am on January 1.

  • After the accident, the car dragged the rider to Shani Temple, around 1 km from the scene of the accident. The driver stopped the car for a while before fleeing the scene, reported India Today.

Police complaint: Yadav's family has lodged a complaint at Phase 1 police station. They said that when they called him on the night of the accident, his phone was picked up by a cab driver, who said Kaushal has been involved in an accident.

  • Police have registered a case and have launched an investigation. The cops are checking the CCTV footage and are questioning the cab driver who informed the family about the accident.

Kanjhawala accident in Delhi: This incident has come to light when there is already a huge uproar over the Kanjhawala accident in Delhi where a 20-year-old woman in was hit by a car and dragged for about 12 km. Her body was found in the early hours on January 1.

  • Five men who were in the car have been arrested by the Delhi Police. The accused have been charged with culpable homicide.
