Aunty India writes an open letter to Bharat ka thought doctor

Dear Bharat ke thought doctor,

Greetings from the land where cosmetic surgery was discovered and so was IVF.

Thank you Mahesh Sharmaji for educating us, in English, about Bharatiya sanskriti. I like this word cleansing you use. Till now the only cleansing I had heard of apart from cleansing milk which my grandmother insisted was essential toilette for a young woman in search of a suitable match, was that of the Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir. But I am told, by reliable sources, now that there is a government of the BJP with the PDP in the Valley, that issue will never be raised.

Anyway, what was I saying? Haan, yaad aya, aapka statement, "We will cleanse every area of public discourse that has been Westernised and where Indian culture and civilisation need to be restored - be it the history we read, our cultural heritage or our institutes that have been polluted over years". Waah, waah.

Sir, you should be given the title of Uncle Bharat. Such profound sense you make. I believe you have said that that we have 39 institutions under the culture ministry, of which you are the esteemed minister, including grand museums and the National School of Drama, but we have not been ''up-to-the-mark in presenting our Indian cultural heritage in a right way. We will totally revamp all these institutions after a detailed roadmap is prepared." Or so you have said.

What wisdom. What unerring insight. Clearly, you invested wisely in your medical degree and clearly the medical science being practised in your Kailash Hospital must be of the non-polluted variety, perhaps as taught by the great Guru of Modernity, Baba Ramdev.

Your government has already changed the name of Aurangzeb Road. You are planning to ''recast"' Nehru Memorial Museum and Library because you believe it should not be the fief of one family - Hey Ram! Certainly not while the Parivar is operational. And surely you must be envious of your friend Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, who with the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan - poor man knows only about shooting so he thought that appointing a man who has played a character in Mahabharata would endear him to the Parivar, the only Parivar that matters. Maheshji, you could always look for appointments in the other epic. Arun Govil who played Ram would be a good candidate for NMML. I believe he is keen to join the party. Or even better what about Paresh Rawal, the MP? He played Sardar Patel and who better than Patel as a replacement for Nehru?

That should endear you to both your bosses, ji, Modiji and Parivarji.

On that note, namasteji.

Your ever loyal sevak

Aunty India

CC Aunty Pakistan: As you can see we have our fair share of odd people.
