Exit Poll Results 2019: Watch live streaming on Aaj Tak

With the seventh and final phase of polling now officially over, it’s now time for the exit poll results 2019 to be rolled out to know just who could emerge as the winner on May 23. The Election Commission of India (ECI) had directed media to conduct exit polls from 6.30 PM onwards. ECI, in the exercise of the powers under sub-section (1) of Section 126A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 has notified that the period between 7 AM on April 11 and 6.30 PM on May 19 as the period during which conducting any exit poll is prohibited.

The commission has said that publishing or publicising the result of exit polls by means of the print or electronic media or in any other manner shall be prohibited during the ongoing general election to the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim 2019 and by-elections from Assembly constituencies.

In the last phase of polling held on May 19, people voted in a total of 59 constituencies across eight states, while over the seven phases of polling, people voted for 543 Lok Sabha seats between April 11 and May 19.

The campaign to the elections saw a pretty acerbic "Tu tu, main main" with the ECI having to repeatedly impose bans on leaders of several parties, prohibiting them from addressing election rallies for varying periods of time ranging from 48 to 72 hours.

It is not for nothing that this General Election has been termed 'India's Angry Election'.

Literally billions are now poised to see what the exit polls predict as the outcome for this mega-event.
