Why appointing KG Bopaiah as pro tem speaker is a controversial decision

The Supreme Court had earlier made strong observations on a floor test the BJP MLA conducted in October 2010.

KG Bopaiah, a Karnataka BJP legislator from Virajpet, has taken oath as the pro tem Speaker of the assembly, and will preside over a crucial floor test on May 19. Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala appointed Bopaiah 24 hours before the floor test. The floor test was ordered by a Supreme Court bench on May 18.
