Bigg Boss 11: Raju Srivastava apologising to Shilpa Shinde shows there's little hope in Indian television
The comedian blamed the channel for editing out a vital portion.
In an attempt to cash in on the popularity of Bigg Boss 11, the channel recently hosted Entertainment ki Raat with faces from the Bigg Boss house like Salman Khan, Bandgi Kalra, Hiten Tejwani. Unfortunately, it became the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons as comedian Raju Srivastava made a derogatory comment about popular Bigg Boss 11 contestant Shilpa Shinde.
However, one good thing about the entire episode is the outrage on social media which finally forced him to apologise and clarify what led him to shame an actor on the national television.
As Bigg Boss 11 contestants are still inside the house, there were dummies of some of them on the set of Entertainment ki Raat. Bandgi, Hiten, Raju Srivastava were asked to pour out their anger on the contestants.
Raju Srivastava targeted the so-called “mother” in the house, Shilpa Shinde of Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai!. Showing a slipper to the dummy of Shilpa, portrayed by another actor, the comedian said, “If you foster such dreams about becoming a mother, come outside the Bigg Boss house. Shakti Kapoor is waiting for you.”
The comment with its uncalled for undertones received flak from social media.

All this finally forced the comedian to issue an apology and come clean about the allegations. In a Facebook post, he passed the buck on the television channel for editing out the vital portion. The dialogue, according to the post, was “Shakti Kapoor is waiting for you to cast you in his mother’s role. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, too, wants to cast you as your mother”. The channel indulged in “mischief”, he said.
However, many people are not ready to accept this explanation. Even the immediate mischievous reactions of Hiten Tejwani, Bandgi who were also there told something else.
